The consultant will be responsible for ensuring
availability and performance of the IBM DB2 databases that support the system
the design, implementation, monitor, maintenance of DB2 Server and Administer
the DB2 server transactional databases. An individual in this position will be
responsible for making sure the DB2 server are functioning optimally and that
users are able to upload, retrieve and analyze the data as it flows across the
various platforms within the organization.
Work with the analysis to develop logical data models.
Design physical tables structures.
Determine physical characteristics of table spaces and indexes (e.g. primary and secondary allocations, percent of free space, locking characteristics etc.).
Create objects (storage groups, databases, table spaces, tables, views, indexes, etc.).
Grant appropriate authorizations.
Develop load and unload utility jobs for each table.
Create backup and recovery procedures for application data.
Create database maintenance procedures ( RUNSTATSm REORGs, etc.) for application data.
Migrate objects to development to production and export and import data between Production, UAT and Dev Platforms.
Take snapshots and Perform data refreshes.
Administrator QMF (e.g., enroll new users) & query analyzer.
Administrate the DB2, QMF resource governors, install and maintain DB2.
Monitor environment performance.
Provide technical support to Users/Developers/Operations, and database guidance to developers.
